Most design systems feel like they were built for robots. Edbot.ai wasn’t supposed to be one of them. When I joined Solve Education! as Principal Designer, the platform was running on an off-the-shelf system that worked technically but felt emotionally flat. I rebuilt it from the ground up, rethinking fonts, icons, components, and giving the mascot a full range of expressions so it could actually encourage learners. Grounded in user research, every choice was made to make learning feel engaging, not like homework. The result is a flexible, cohesive system that helps the team ship faster and gives users a product they genuinely want to come back to.
